WHAT IS AURORA?

• All information presented in the Aurora Web is to be treated as PRELIMINARY and is subject to change. Aurora data and descriptions may differ from that presented in our Daily Status Reports and on the End of Voyage Report (EOV). Any performance values provided should be considered BEST ESTIMATES based on the automated information received to date, but not necessarily analyzed by a performance specialist.
• Using AMI's Aurora Fleet Management System, fleet managers can monitor their vessel's status wherever the internet is accessible.
• The online fleet monitoring system provides ready access to fleet distribution status, as well as route details for individual voyages including: position reports, weather forecasts, bunker consumption, and preliminary performance details.
• One unique feature of Aurora is the ability to share fleet/voyage information with colleagues and partners. If they choose, vessel managers can create and manage Aurora accounts for their business partners, so they too can keep up-to-date on vessel progress.

WHAT'S NEW IN THIS RELEASE

Version 3.0 (February 2021)

• This release has a new table format for the Fleet view page. The World Map is updated as well, as is the Weather control panel on the right side of the World Map. In the Voyage Information view the Details and Messages tab views have been cleaned up. The performance improvements for displaying the tabular data give Aurora a snappier feel. Improvements to drawing the World Map are forthcoming.

RELEASE NOTES

Version 2.7 (June 2017)

• This release contains buttons in which you can filter voyages in the map and voyage list by the service types AIS or OVR. OVR voyages include serviced (UNDERWAY and PREDEPART) voyages.

Version 2.6 (June 2017)

• This contains a port forecast utility in the Voyage Information Section. Click on a voyage and select Port Forecast on the most right tab at the top of the Voyage Information window after you click on a voyage.

• If the voyage is within three days of arrival of a particular port, a port forecast for this port will appear, which includes:
  - Relative Humidity (%)
  - Air Temperature (C)
  - Precipitation (mm/hour)
  - Winds including:
    * Wind Speed (m/s)
    * Wind Direction (North,East,South,West)

• You also have the option to generate a port forecast for the arrival port if the voyage is more than 3 days away or make a port forecast for another port or user inputed location. The directions will for this are under the Port Forecast tab

Version 1.4 Beta (March 2010)

• The Fleet View list now shows PENDING voyages so that the ETD of the voyage can be checked.

• Doubled zoom capability from 3 level zoom to 6 level zoom for better shoreline details.

• Pressure contours are now spread at the standard 4mb interval with a 8mb interval used in global view for ease of viewing.
• A drop-down menu now conveniently controls the map’s date and time. This menu allows the user to jump to a future date and time with one mouse click.

• On the Fleet View, when moving the mouse over a vessel position a popup box displays information about the vessel. It includes the following:
  - Vessel name and call sign
  - Departure port name and ATD
  - Arrival port name and ETA
  - Lat/Lon and time at the position
  - Current speed of the vessel
  - Summary of weather conditions
  - Distance remaining
• Users are able to change their contact information including password as well as specific configurations by clicking on their username at the top of the screen.

Version 1.0 Beta (December 2009)

• The world map in both the Fleet View and Voyage View pages can be zoomed and panned. There are two controls for these two functions. In the upper right hand corner are two icons. A double arrowed cross is selected (pressed) to allow zooming by a mouse click in the world map. The selection "hand" icon puts the map in pan mode. A click and hold of the left mouse button grabs the frame for panning by dragging.
  
  The current mode is indicated by the icon with the copper background.
  
  The second set of controls is on the upper left side of the map. The top control is for pan and the other for zoom.
  
  In addition, while in zoom mode a rectangle can be selected by using the mouse click and drag action for zooming into a particular area.
  
  Also, when the plus sign at the lower right side of the world map is selected a small window pops up that allows panning and zooming.
  
  Lastly, the map zooms if you use the scroll wheel on your mouse.
• The Fleet View can always be displayed by selecting the Fleet menu item on the top right hand corner of the application page.
• Account management, reachable from the Accounts menu item on the top right hand corner of the application page, has been simplified and expanded. Upon selecting the menu item the current list of "sub-accounts" is listed along with a button for "Create New Account." Existing accounts can be edited or deleted.
  
  The Accounts management page has three panes: Contact Information, Preferences and Permissions.
  
  The Contact Information is for basic user information. The Preferences allows columns for the four basic bunker types to be included or excluded from the Voyage View. Also, the coloring for actual versus estimated dates is specified here, as is the format for dates; either MDY or DMY.
  
  The Permissions are for specifying which portion of the fleet should be accessible to the sub-account. Note that a sub-account may be a third- party that only needs to see a subset of the fleet or a subset of the voyage information. What they should see is specified here.
  
  The basic Permissions subheadings are Section, Vessel, Voyage and Leg. If the Section check box is checked then the whole fleet for that "section" is displayed in the Fleet and Voyages views. If a particular Vessel is checked then every voyage undertaken by that vessel is displayed. If a Voyage is checked then only that voyage is displayed even if the vessel subsequently embarks on another voyage. And, if only certain legs of a voyage should be displayed then the leg(s) should be checked.
• On the Voyage View in the Voyage Information window just below the world map there are three panels. The first (the default selection) is the Details panel where basic voyage information is displayed for each point on the voyage route. The Messages panel shows the message traffic between the master and the Aerospace & Marine routing analysts. The Reports pane shows the speed and fuel consumption performance numbers.
• The significant wave height contours, pressure contours, wind arrows and tropical storm track layering is set using check boxes in the control pane on the right edge of the world map. Weather information is only displayed if the corresponding checkbox is checked.
• There are also controls on the Voyage View for collapsing the Voyage Map (world map) window and/or Voyage Information window. They are arrow heads on the right top and bottom corners, respectively.
